Accountant – Kragujevac office

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our growing team. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on payroll experience, and the ability to work closely with both local and international stakeholders, including our partner company based in Australia.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including recording and payment of invoices, acting as a key contact for creditors, and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Oversee the accounts receivable function, including allocation of receipts from bank statements to debtor ledgers, reconciliations, and handling internal and external inquiries
  • Handle payroll processing, including employee registration and deregistration with relevant institutions
  • Calculate taxes and ensure accurate and timely tax filings
  • Operate within the eGovernment (eUprava) system for required administrative and reporting tasks
  • Perform month-end processes and reporting, including journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and balance confirmations
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal standards
  • Provide accounting support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives
  • Support ad hoc business and office needs when required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience as an Accountant (experience in the IT sector is an advantage)
  • Experience with payroll processing, tax calculations, and government reporting systems
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (data analysis, reporting, financial modeling)
  • Fluency in English and Serbian, both written and spoken (due to regular communication with our Australian partner)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
